Yury Olshansky, an actor, film-maker, healthcare clown, author, was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1952 and graduated from Volkov’s Theater Institute in acting. A US and Italian citizen a member of SAG/AFTRA, he received an MFA in Film Production from New York University and has worked with renowned directors, such as Paul Mazursky and Cedric Klapish, and actors Robin Williams and Gérard Depardieu. For his performance in the film “Whiter than Snow”, directed by Spyros Vrettos, Olshansky received a Silver Award for “Best Actor in a Drama” at the 2024 Best Actors & Directors Awards in New York.   As an author, Yury Olshansky has published several books illustrated by Dutch artist Tjaarke Maas: a volume of poetry and short stories titled "Unfinished Dialog" (Незавершенный диалог), ZebraЕ edition, 2014, Moscow, Russia; a book of prose and essays "Beyond the Memory" (За пределами Памяти) Borey Art Center Edition, 2021, St. Petersburg, Russia; a novel “Kairos” as well as an additional book of prose, “ABQ Tierra de Encanto " Borey Art Center Edition, 2023, St. Petersburg, Russia; a book of poetry "The Messenger" (Посланец), Lulu International Edition, 2024,USA ; “The Chronicles of Panocles” Panocles edition, USA, Lulu Special edition 2024; “The Adventures of Suli-bird in New York City” Lulu Special Edition, 2025 USA. Yury is the founding member of Soccorso Clown, an Italian non-profit Performing Arts Organization working with sick children and the elderly.
