Shakara Lawrence is an Instructional Technology Specialist for the Norfolk Public Schools System. She has been an educator for over 9 years. She also has over 16 years of experience in training and development. She has trained students, counselors, administrators, and teachers on Increasing Academic Rigor, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and Effectively Integrating Technology. Her first year as a Gifted Resource Teacher, she discovered that there were not many resources that provided a one-stop shop. Therefore, she decided to compile a toolbox of practical research-based tips and strategies that beginning gifted teachers can use as a starting point. Then, they can add to their toolbox with their own essential items they have found to help them be successful during their journey as an educator.
