YaYa Chou
YaYa Chou is an award-winning sculptor and installation artist who explores innovative uses and cultural meanings of everyday materials. While she observes common conceptual threads in ideologies, social phenomena, and human experiences among various cultures, she emphasizes the personal and temporal experience of viewers as they encounter the work itself. Chou's work ranges from sculpture made of gummi bears, licorice lace, burnt toast, and found objects to installations with traditional media such as clay, paper, fabric, and glass. Born and raised in Taipei, Chou earned her MFA in Experimental Animation from California Institute of the Arts and she continues to live and work in Los Angeles. She has exhibited extensively in solo and group shows in LA, New York, Chicago, Fort Wayne, Virginia Beach, and other cities in the US. To learn more about YaYa Chou, please visit www.YaYaChou.com
