Her grandmother was a professional opera singer, Swift followed in her footsteps. Starting at the age of 10, Swift sang at a variety of local events, from fairs to contests. She sung "The Star-Spangled Banner" at an NBA game at the age of 11, she began writing her own songs and learning guitar at 12 years old.
