Maarten's Redemption

Maarten Venema is 11 years old when his country, the Netherlands, faces one of the most troublesome periods in its history. It is the fifth year of World War II. Earlier in the war, Maarten's father was transported to a concentration camp far away. Since then Maarten suffers through a war of his own; he carries a secret about a mistake he made during his father's arrest. Ridden with guilt, Maarten decides to go on a mission involving the risk of being captured. Will he ever get the chance, or the courage, to reveal his secret after this?
