When Lorraine Bower is murdered, it’s a case of mistaken identity. The real mark was Sandra Dalton of Dalton Easter Investigations (DEI). Sandra believes she is the target of Ralph Axel, a suspected drug smuggler. The DEI team (including Brick Dalton and Allen Easter) moves in to action. While trying to protect Sandra, Allen is kidnapped and beaten. His daring escape leads the DEI team to a secret code that, if broken, may lead them to the drug smugglers. In between all the action, Allen falls in love with Mona Munson, and wonderful dilemmas arise. When Sandra is confronted by the real murderer, Allen and Brick are nowhere to be found. She must try to escape by herself and on her own. The DEI team ends up going full circle following non-clues and mendacity in this tale of mystery, murder and mayhem.
