365 Days of Beauty is a journal for writing about one beautiful moment each and every day for a year.
In 2022 I challenged myself to do just that and it was incredible. The experience of noticing and writing about beauty every single day was life changing in a way. It made me see more of the good that surrounded me. it pulled me, if only for a moment, out of negative thoughts, anxiety or worry. To see the beautiful is to feel abundant. To feel abundant is to attract more of that abundance into your life every single day.
Here is what I wrote at the outset of the project:
The Beauty Project
My word for 2022 is Beauty. In honour of this word, I have committed myself to write about one beautiful moment every single day this year. That is 365 beautiful moments! Now that I am focusing on seeing the beauty everyday, I have to admit I find it hard to write about just one, and so some days I write more.
In many ways if feels like the world is falling apart around us, and so I know that this project is a luxury. I am grateful for it. My heart goes out to all those who are suffering right now, and I do my best to educate myself on what is happening and how I can help.
A few questions my own personal reflection on beauty in 2022 has brought up for me are:
1. Often people say that we need the darkness to see the light. If this is true, do we need the ugly to see the beauty? I guess this brings me to the idea of polarity, and more reading on the subject!
2. Why does if feel easier to live in anxiety, stress, worry, fear and anger?
3. How long can you sustain living in the beautiful moments? There is so much talk about "toxic positivity" out there, especially in the self-help and development community. Does this apply here? I know it doesn't for me. When I say I want to live in beauty or see the beauty everyday, it doesn't mean that I push the negative deep within without attempting to address it.
There is a part of me that wants to believe that the more beauty we see, the more beauty there is. Today and every day, I hope you can find some beauty and live in that moment for as long as you can!
This journal is simple in design. There is room for you to write about one moment of beauty you experience each day for a whole year, with a few blank pages open for inspiration. Maybe you want to add a picture or a drawing to your own book of beauty. Easy and portable, the journal is just over 200 pages and 6x9 in size with mostly lined pages.
