Four Stories by Arthur McKeown

This book contains some of my recent work to help newly independent readers of English, including: <LI>Learners of English as a Foreign or Second Language <LI>Students on adult literacy programmes <LI>Pupils at Key Stage 2 (Upper Primary). <BR><BR> These stories may be used in a variety of ways: <LI><I>Extensive reading: </i>They can be read for interest and enjoyment as stand alone stories <LI><i>Intensive reading: </I>They can provide opportunities to develop <BR>- Skills in reading comprehension <BR>- Knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary <BR>- Discussion opportunities about historical themes introduced in the stories.<BR> <BR> The four stories are: <LI><I><B>The Red Hand of Ulster <LI>Towards the Workhouse Door <LI>Flying at Carnmoney <LI>The Don of Donegal</i></b>
