Kóórì
Òrìṣà Ẹwe, the Orisha of Children · Ọ̀fún Ọ̀kànràn
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
In the Odù Ọ̀fún Ọ̀kànràn, Kóórì asks Ifá the only question she has: would I ever have children? She is told to make an offering, a matured hen, and she cooks it herself and eats it alone. She does it twice, and comes home to an empty house.
The third time she goes to Ọ̀rúnmìlà, and he tells her the truth. She marks the wall at her navel, feeds everyone and tastes nothing, and the children begin to come.
A painted graphic novel for grown readers about the Òrìṣà of children, told with Ṣàlámì's ẹsẹ in Yorùbá and English, the praise-song of her devotees, and the children who still carry her beads to market. In Yorùbá life, children are wealth.
