In this sixth mystery featuring Brendan Byrne and Charles Bellingham, a young Benedictine monk–Jez Jones, also now known as Brother Israel--has to struggle with competing loyalties. He loves his birth family, whose members resemble the famous dysfunctional biblical family of Hosea the prophet, but he is also strongly drawn to aid his religious brothers, whose monastic life is threatened a member who does not wish them well.
