Morning Light and Other Fun Tidbits

This is a collection of my favorite pieces I have written– including poetry, a fiction short story, and just a simple free-write flow of my thoughts. This compilation is rather meaningful to me, especially as poetry was a way for me to write about how I felt through art– which is something I have always struggled with. Putting emotion into an art form is something beautiful, and I’m glad I’ve been given this opportunity to share it. The short story, Hemlock, doesn’t have any special, emotionally artistic meaning to me, but I am proud of the quality of my writing, and that in and of itself feels like art. It follows a girl, Aveza, and a small dragon companion on a journey of her home life. The final piece, What We’ve Created, is just my personal opinion on society and how it has developed into something that cannot sustain itself or us. It talks about how our world is a rather fickle thing, driven by human greed and our inherent need to put ourselves before others, and how this selfish mindset created a monotonous lifestyle laced with a loss of hope.
