Growth Edging

About a year and a half after my first book, Medium Language Model, I’m excited to share this new collection of poems with you. My writing has evolved somewhat, focusing less on the self, and exploring more how we relate to the external world and each other. I have personally grown happier and more connected, and yet the world feels increasingly complicated and uncertain—navigating this duality inspires much creativity and reflection. The title “Growth Edging” is a play on the phrase “growth edge”—the point where a person is challenged to grow or evolve. It also draws on the concept of “edging,” where one repeatedly approaches a threshold without fully crossing it. This is my playful, incremental approach to growth, flirting with change without fully committing... until sometime, you eventually cross the line and transform. The book’s chapters are a loose collection of poems, each circling different themes: Connection, Relationship, Change, Shadows, Friction, Society, and Silly. Many of the pieces were written to be read out loud. If you have an environment for it, imagine or voice the piece as if being read on a stage. I hope you enjoy. I hope this leads to discovery or expression of your own creativity, as it has to mine.
