Fundamentals of SharePoint 2007 for developers. The book gives developers a fast introduction to the basic topics: Features, site definitions, site columns, content types, list definitions, pages, web parts and the object model. Visual Studio 2010 has improved developing SharePoint solutions and makes a developers life much easier. The disadvantage of the advanced tooling is that it hides what is going on behind the scene. This book tries to compact exactly that knowledge into as few pages as possible. Initially, I wrote this book to cover all topics of the MCTS 70-541 exam. As I was writing the book in my spare time it took a long time to finish. The MCTS 70-541 is not so relevant today as SharePoint 2010 has been on the market for more than a year. Still, the book covers all the basic grounds for SharePoint 2007 (WSS 3.0) and most of the concepts also apply to SharePoint Foundation 2010. The book is as cheap as possible: You pay only for printing and shipping.
