Hunt for the Emeralda Treasure

A rusty pointed tool, a porcelain shard, an old bottle - are they connected? A pack of etched plates, a brass bar bearing Spanish words, and a canister of woolens - remains of a fated mission in the 18th Century that might have changed history. Ten souls on an island are drawn into a search for an uncharted ship. Whatever happened? It must have been broken up by a powerful force because the broken remains are small. There is a legend of a floating longhouse, with trees and blankets flying vanished under a great wave. Four strange women converge and show interest, offering hints as to what artifacts lay under water and mud. Friendships flower, new relationships lead to discoveries of historical events and things about themselves. A curmudgeon professor knows they are hunting for: a rumored emerald, the size of an ostrich egg. They organize a search. It’s not the emerald the professor wants; more important is a lost cargo of instruments that would have changed world history if they had made it to China.
