Plants can communicate in there own ways and let you know that there is a problem. Being able to read the leaves by understanding the common symptomology of each element and the location on the plant where it initially manifests will let you know how the plant feels. A number of possible causes can lead to a nutritional disorder in plants. These possible factors include: when an element is not supplied in sufficient quantities, there is an imbalance with other elements that result in an antagonism, the substrate pH inhibits uptake, disease issues, insect infestations, and physiological conditions. Therefore to diagnose a plant problem requires that all the factors be taken into the account. This guide provides an overview of the typical symptomology observed in specialty crops when nutritional disorders occur and will aid in the diagnostic process.
