Unedited work - recopied letters from a young soldier sent to his mother. She kept them for her whole life then gave them back. That individual kept them for his whole life then gave them to me. The work is a body of 127 hand-written letters that were mailed between 1943 and 1945. The tour starts on a bus to Army Boot Camp and ends with the capture of a Japanese General. Plainly written with the spirit of life in WW2 - there is no better way to honor the spirit of a grandparent or of a soldier - than just to simply understand what was important enough at the time - to be discussed in snail mail.
