My Promise To Emily

This compelling story, My Promise to Emily, will touch your heart in ways only you can imagine. Each of my readers can reflect back to a time in their life when someone gave their word or made a promise. Your foundation is built upon these two principles. As I reflect back on my life and the times people told me they would do something, I instantly looked forward to them following through. Firstly, because they gave their word, and secondly, because they made a promise. Now, let’s reflect on the story when Emily asked if she could have my next catch. My reaction was, "Yes, you can have my next catch. You have my word." Emily was so excited and overflowing with joy because her trust was in my word. My next catch was my largest. Something happened. Instead of following through on my word, I wanted to keep it. Emily looked into my eyes with compassion instead of disappointment. These were her words: "I understand, Mr. Calvin, that's your largest catch, and you want to keep it." WOW! She compromised with me. Later, I made a promise and came through with flying colors, as my next catch was even larger, and I gave it to her. God truly came through. I asked for forgiveness and learned a valuable lesson. In closing, I hope this story will touch your heart in ways only you can imagine. I also hope it encourages and inspires you to share your story. Mr. Dudley, as a teacher, was instrumental with the melody of love, the rhythm of encouragement, and the harmony of motivation. His method and style were like that of a conductor of a symphony orchestra. Each instrument had to perform at It's highest level, a challenge they readily embraced. Mr. Dudley truly made a unique difference in their lives.
