MATLAB THROUGH EXAMPLES: SYMBOLIC CALCULUS AND SYMBOLIC ALGEBRA
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
MATLAB is a powerful tool that allows for optimal work with symbolic computation. It is possible to define symbolic variables and functions that enable us to factor, expand, and simplify complex algebraic expressions, solve equations and systems in both the real and complex domains, and work with polynomials and other algebraic structures. MATLAB can also easily work with symbolic matrix algebra, using commands that allow the calculation of eigenvalues, eigenvectors, diagonalization, and various matrix decompositions, among many other functions. In the graphical domain, it is possible to work with symbolic curves in explicit, implicit, parametric, and polar coordinates, and with explicit and parametric symbolic surfaces. Furthermore, MATLAB perfectly addresses the field of Mathematical Analysis, allowing work with limits of sequences and functions, convergence and sums of series, power series expansions, and the study of function continuity. It is also possible to obtain analytical solutions to integrals, derivatives, and differential equations. The chapters begin with methodological concepts illustrated with basic examples and end with complete exercises, all of which are solved using the scientific computing software MATLAB.
