Programme for the Third World War

Clifford Hugh Douglas was not primarily an academic economist but an engineer who approached economics as a problem of systems design. His booklet A Programme is one of several concise statements of the Social Credit movement's practical agenda. While the booklet itself is less widely read than his major works such as Economic Democracy and Social Credit, it distills the movement's central political and monetary proposals. Its significance lies less in technical economics than in its attempt to translate a diagnosis of modern capitalism into a concrete reform programme.
