Danzas de los Matachines

Danzas de los Matachines is a three-movement string quartet based on traditional matachín dance melodies from Mexico and the southwestern United States. Lively rhythms, memorable melodies, and classical formal structures abound throughout the piece. The movement titles are "La Entrada/La Procesión/Los Panos," "La Batalla/Matachin," and "Guajes/El Son de la Malinche/El Toro."
