Fourteen-year-old Jonathan White is a straight A student, who loves to read and play on the computer. He's well mannered, he speaks proper English and is on the robotics team. One Problem: Jonathan lacks style and he doesn't use slang. This puts him on the receiving end of bullying at his new high school. Fortunately, Jonathan's two new friends and a beautiful cheerleader are there to guide him through it. When the bullying gets worse, Jonathan decides to change his name to J-Dub and his image with the help from his father and younger sister. The popular kids meet the new Jonathan, and they accept him into the clique. When the popular kids begin to get Jonathan in trouble and alienate his family and friends; he realizes that he's better off being his socially awkward self.
