AND BABY MAKES SEVEN: A PROCESS PAPER
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This paper is an exploration of the honors thesis production of And Baby Makes Seven on February 15-16, 2008 at the University of Iowa’s Department of Theatre Arts. From inception to closing, this is a justification of the role of Ruth as an undergraduate thesis role, followed by an analysis of what went into putting the show together. I approach this analysis first from my point of view as an actor, and then from my perspective as the producer of the show. I’ve separated these two sections because that division reflects what I learned about being both an actor and producer of a show: in order to fulfill either role, I needed to keep them separate from each other. I’ll finish with a summary of how this show has shaped my actor’s process and what I’ve learned as a theatre artist from putting this together.
