About Darryl A Perkins

Darryl A. Perkins was born in Lenoir, North Carolina in 1954 and grew up in the Bushtown section of Caldwell County. After graduating from Hibriten High School he attended Winston Salem State University where he majored in biology. His summers were spent working as a Naturalist for the National Park Service at the Peaks of Otter Visitor Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Lynchburg, VA. After college, he served in the US Army for four years. He is a Master Falconer and served six years as president of the North American Falconer's Association following a four year stent on the Board of Directors. He is an avid photographer and writer, and has had articles and photos published in all the major falconry publications including The Journal of the North American Falconer's Association, International Falconer, and American Falconry.
