Introduction to Programming Using Java is a free
introductory computer programming textbook that uses Java as the language of instruction. It is suitable for use in an introductory programming course and by people who are trying to learn programming on their own. There are no prerequisites beyond a general familiarity with the ideas of computers and
programs. Part 1 consists of Chapters 1 through 7, which can be used as a textbook in a one-semester college-level course or in a year-long high school course. Version 9.0 of this book was published in May, 2022 and comes in two editions, one using JavaFX for GUI programming and one using Swing. This is the JavaFX Edition. It requires Java 17 or later and JavaFX for GUI programming.
