Evan Mathews, 23, lives with his father, Jack. Evan’s mother, Serrilla was taken from a Shopping Mall 19 years earlier. Carrie Tyson, Evan’s fiancee and Hostess at The Gathering Zone Restaurant which is owned by Jack Mathews. A fire in the restaurant traps Evan in the basement while the flames engulf the upper floor, forcing the Firemen to abandon a rescue. There is a flash of light and moments later, Evan is saved by a mysterious teenager. They walk out through the front door and the roof caves in. Later, the teenager visits the recuperating Evan at his home and tell Evan that he is Netherlan Mathews, Evan’s 19 year-old brother. He told Evan that he has been living with their mother in Tozia. another realm which shares the Earth with the realm of the humans. Evan discovers a realization about himself and his brother and what, together, they would become.
