The art of Don Farrell assigns symbols to The Unknowable, reaching through the ephemeral illusion we have come to know as reality, to an underlying, timeless, spiritual narrative. In this Universal Mythology, fulfillment reflects from mystery, encouraging us to find, within ourselves, a unique understanding beyond the grasp of intellect - a feeling of connection. "Transformation Window" assembles many paintings, drawings, photographs and hand-made, geometric page borders, into one richly illustrated book of mystical poetry. Equal parts hopeful and apocalyptic, it depicts a realm where linear becomes cyclical, calendars end and new ones begin. Farrell's "metaphysical visionary surrealist" art is inspired by artists such as Hieronymus Bosch, M.C. Escher, William Blake and Patrick Woodroffe, as well as Classic Mayan relief sculpture and Islamic geometric tradition. His poetry is inspired by Jim Morrison, Walt Whitman, H.D. Thoreau, and Aleister Crowley. Many of the original artworks used to print this book have exhibited at numerous venues in Europe and the Americas, and some are now in private collections.
