Fresh from the loss of his beloved Virginia, Edgar Allan Poe wishes to make a substantial donation to a Baltimore medical college to advance the cause of compassionate care. But first he wants to examine the institution from the bottom up, to make sure they're worthy of his largess. Along the way, he learns about the bizarre medical practices of the mid-1800s, including the strangest one of all: the Resurrection Men.
