Rising: A Narrative Anthology is an assembly of stories written by the adolescent writers of Mrs. Campbell’s 1B class. The prompt for these stories was “living deliberately” something that not many of us knew the meaning of at the start of this journey. On the search for answers, we interviewed the people that mattered most to us in our lives and got their takes on living deliberately. The stories in this anthology are woven from their words of wisdom, these tales are told through their eyes, their mouths, and their ears. Everyone has their own definition of living deliberately, which is why it’s so important to hear everyone’s perspective on life. Those perspectives are here, those thoughts and ideas are written into these pages, and with everything that we’ve learned, we’ve all learned what rising really means. Rising is about touching the heart. Rising is about learning from your mistakes and pushing forward. Rising isn’t about the times you got knocked down, but about the time that you got back up.
