William Tyler

William Tyler "emigrates" on foot to the town of North Fork following the burial of his mother's charred remains. He goes there in observance of her dying wish, that her son not remain a hermit throughout his adult life. Once in North Fork, Tyler soon takes on the job of delivery driver for a Northern Pacific Railroad secondary line and later studies telegraphy in the hope of improving upon his lot.
