This is a “coming of age” book in three volumes of a young lesbian growing up in Los Angeles in the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s.
It outlines the fears of recognition of self, the coming-to-terms later, and the difficulties of survival for Ryan Kane, along with the psychological trials and learning to deal with life in general just as a regular person…what we all have to deal with.
There are many characters in Volume One…some brief and some lifetime friends…who help to mold and shape Ryan’s morals and teach her about responsibility and honor.
Also, Ryan’s interest in Metaphysics, due to events in her younger life, is brought out in this autobiographical part one of a three-parter, which, hopefully, will serve to instruct as well as enlighten the reader.
This is a story of a girl becoming a woman, learning not to sweat the small stuff. It isn’t easy!
