The Book of Beasts by Edith Nesbit with illustrations by H. R. Millar. This edition is a republication of "The Book of Beasts" first published in The Strand Magazine, No. 99 (March 1899). The Book of Beasts is a Dragon Fairy Tale Story by Edith Nesbit in which a young boy named Lionel is made King and discovers a very peculiar book in the Palace library. When Lionel opens the book, out of the pages fly a Butterfly and a Blue Bird of Paradise! But when he opens the book again, he releases a terrible Red Dragon.
