The apparently lighthearted experience of a thirty-year-old Roman who moves to New York to pursue a Master’s degree in Law.
In reality, the treated topics are anything but lighthearted: our place in the world; the dissatisfaction of young people who spend years studying, but are lucky if they find a job that pays them back their expenses; how we relate to one another; forced choices and postponed choices.
The main character is conflicted between his love for his family, and his desire to emerge as a person. Through various encounters, he comes to understand a bit more about himself every day, about his personality, about his approach to life.
He is a guy like many others. Yet, despite big disappointments as well as small ones; he has a pure and childlike view of things, which leads him to talk to ravens, geckos, and even his deceased grandparents. A magical touch is inserted into the more realistic framework of his romantic relationships, of his attempt to succeed as an adult. In the midst of all that, the crucial encounter with a brilliant homeless man will contribute to making him realize that we can procrastinate in life, but there comes a moment we have to decide to start living.
