WALKING TOWARDS THE SUN

The meeting with the little Filippo procures the writer the occasion to treat a very actual issue in the contemporary society: the diversity created by disability. However, it is read in terms of opportunity and not of disadvantage, according to the inclusive perspective that has developed in the academic environment in Italy in recent decades. Today it’s enough just enter any class of primary school to see that children with Special Educative Needs related to disability, disorder or difficulty of learning have increased compared to the past; so for this reason it’s asked firstly to the school but also to the entire society to change their own way of thinking about disability regarding at it no more as abnormal, but rather accepting it. We are talking about the creation of an inclusive society, that is able to accept the diversity of the disabled and welcome them in their uniqueness, trying to develop at most their capacities.
