2-works of female-led-fiction depicting marital power-struggles comprise book-four of the “Malevolent Intentions” collection. “Demoting Simon” is Gillian Ormendroyd’s short study describing how a husband finds himself trapped in a female-led lifestyle with a formerly loving wife. This after a widow and neighbour begins bending the ear of a younger wife regarding the joys she experienced controlling the existence of her late-husband… In all ways! We finish with “From Husband to Manservant”, Elise Marriott’s longer tale of a once downtrodden wife and how the new and female boss of the company employing both her and the husband who has cheated throughout their marriage, conspire to transform this handsome and cocksure womaniser into a servant… And a broken and abject servant at that. Two works of female-led fiction for the lover of the ruthless and dominant woman.
