Almost 300 years from now, in the year 2313, shape-shifting squid from the Andromedan Galaxy have fully colonized Earth. Their war with the dolphin-like creatures of the Triangulum Galaxy has left Earth, the crown jewel of Greater Andromeda, caught in the middle, routinely attacked, and in shambles.
To assert their colonial control over the Universe, the Andromedans have decided to send an all-female crew, never mixed gender lest the humans get colonial ambitions of their own, to help annex and assess the galaxy NGC-1313 and its main planet Ialym to solve the mystery of what happened to the all-male crew there that disappeared there the year prior without a trace.
