A series of short stories, each centered around a different horse, The Black Mare and other stories is a snippet of life at a Boy Scout Ranch, for the animals that make that place home, and for the wranglers that love them. This colection of anecdotes, most fairly humorous, was written for anyone who has ever been to a summer camp and ridden a horse there.
