Three Autumn Sketches was composed during October and early November of 2008. It was commissioned by David Stock and Duquesne University on the occasion of David Stock's retirement. The work is thirteen minutes long and is scored for flute, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, violin, viola, violoncello, and piano.
