Reluctant at first, Clay says, “Hell why not…I’m old, aging and there’s nothing for me to look forward to except heaven’s ‘pearly-gates’.” Over time, he gets the whole works―a new body. Now that he is totally re-created, he tries to avoid his mother’s mental degenerative situation, and takes the final step to have his brain remade. The outcome is risky, but he takes the chance anyway. What does he have to lose? Why did he do it? What else is there for an old man to do, but go on the final adventure of his life?
