Russ Thompson wanted nothing to do with the downtrodden of society. He was happy with his non-descript office job and uneventful life. Unfortunately, he couldn’t avoid seeing and sometimes interacting with the homeless who congregated outside of the Bethel Mission, waiting for a free breakfast. "These people are probably happy in the sad state they are in. It should be easy for them to make a better life for themselves, but they choose to live like this. Sickening!" Nicholas "Nick" Arther was a bum. An alcoholic since college Nicholas was prepared to accept to his fate. He was as happy as someone could be when they are broke and sleeping under a bridge. In his heart he knew there was a way out. He just needed a push. Out of the Rags is the story of the chance meeting between Nick Arther and Russ Thompson and the incredible events that unfold after. It is a story about friendship, love, sex, violence and the struggles of two men trying to find themselves in a difficult world.
