Heart of Darkness

Ian Malcolm returns to Scotland from the Baron's war in England scarred by loss. He only wants to be left in peace. Marriage is the last thing he wants, especially when that marriage is to Catriona MacDougall. Aidan MacDougall has loved Ian her entire life, though he was betrothed long ago to her twin. When Catriona decides that marrying Ian simply will not do, she urges Aidan to take her place. Aidan agrees both to escape from her father, and to be with the man she loves. What she finds is a man haunted by ghosts of the past and tottering on the brink of disaster. When the truth of her identity is finally discovered, she and Ian both find a light that will banish the darkness.
