Alta Jory, the last human being on an Earth of the distant future dominated by an Alien race known as the Croylens, is raised and showcased as a feature attraction in a zoo dedicated to Earth's now almost extinct species. Viewed as nothing more than an animal, and cared for by a sympathetic keeper, Alta soon learns more than his captors would like, especially the fact that he may, in truth, not be the last human on Earth afterall.
