Covering Occupy DC

The images in this book were photographed by Evan Golub between October 7th 2011 and March 24th 2012, taken at Freedom Plaza and McPherson Square Park, both in Washington D.C. Most were submitted to the Demotix newswire, a citizen photojournalism agency owned at the time by Corbis, as a freelancer. The Demotix slogan was “The News - By You” and had been conceived of as a free speech platform. While taken with a digital camera in color, and originally distributed that way, most of the images of have been slightly color adjusted and/or converted to black and white for this book.
