St. Francis was nothing if not devoted to constant prayer: prayer in both words and deeds. This little book provides many examples of prayers from the Franciscan tradition as well as from St. Francis himself. It contains the original Umbrian version of his Canticle of the Sun, along with Latin and English translations of it; his "Words of Warning" to his brothers; his "Greeting of the Virtues"; the special "Office of the Lord's Passion" that he composed. It also includes prayers not written by him, but dedicated to his spirituality and his memory: a novena to St. Francis; a litany of St. Francis; the ritual for the blessing of an investiture with the cord of St. Francis; and many smaller prayers. Richly decorated with art from the Franciscan tradition, mostly medieval, this little prayer book can be an asset to any Catholic devoted to St. Francis.
Mostly Latin-English; a few parts English-only.
