Luke's Notebook: Meditations on the Gospel

This is a meditation, or rather, a series of meditations, on the Gospel of Luke. Even more precisely, it is an invitation to meditation on the Gospel. It is not a novel. It is not a work of history. What a reader will find here is a series of imaginary scenes, taken from different parts of Luke’s Gospel. The stories feature minor characters or people not even mentioned in the original Gospel of Luke, but who must have been present when Jesus was speaking and acting. They are people a little bit like ourselves: not famous, not heroes, but ordinary people who are challenged by what they see and hear.
