1989 the Berlin Wall fell and Gabrielle Dolphin found her background in anthropology of help to the Heart to Heart International Medical Association and Division of Neonatology at Children's Hospital Oakland in coordinating the logistics transferring a state-of-the-art neonatal intensive care nursery. She later organized her own non-profit humanitarian aid group and traveled with a film crew to document the famous miniature lacquer artists of Palekh Russia, and to provide educational and medical aid to this village.
