Garry Turner started playing the guitar at an early age after being inspired by Yngwie Malmsteen more than Eddie Van Halen. His studies began as a classical trained musician studying classical guitar through High School.
In 1992 Garry became a Guitar Institute Of Technology graduate and was one of the only few Extreme Metal players that semester. He spent time learning Jazz, Blues, Theory and Session Playing from the greats at GIT.
Becoming a pupil of David Oaks, who was Classically trained by Segovia, he learned the Art of Classical Expression. Garry continued to progress as a guitarist and composer and has branched out into producing and mixing.
With the tutoring and friendship of Dick Grove in 1993 Garry Turner began working on his Masters in Composition and Arranging.
With the passing of his mentor Dick Grove, Garry has continued Dick Groves School have thought and has passed his teachings on to his students of all ages.
