A new species Quercus mzymtica Melamud, sp. nov. is described from the interfluve of the rivers Mzymta and Shakhe (Western Transcaucasia). The species is a local endemic of this territory and closest to Q. calcarea Troitsky, from which clearly differs in the strongly undulate-curly leaves and restricted distribution.
