Gemma Ann Phillips was born in 1983 in Newport, South Wales, UK. As a long term sufferer of the chronic illness M.E/CFS in addition to several other complicated medical conditions she was forced to give up a promising career in engineering in 2010 shortly after the release of her first book; a self help guide entitled M.E and me in late 2009. Determined to become a mother she attempted various other less demanding careers and became a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist. She and her husband were finally blessed with a daughter in 2017 after an 11 year struggle and IVF treatment. Shortly after she gave up work to raise their child and it was then she started writing again. Gemma now writes children's books when her health permits for her daughter based on her daughter and the weird and wonderful questions she asks. All books are designed to be engaging for both children and their parents and something they can read together and discuss. They deal with a number of hard hitting issues that can be difficult for children to process and for parents to talk about. All illustrations are Gemma's creations using hers and her daughter's fingerprint art, specifically designed in this way because Olivia wanted to contribute.
