The Pasadena Story

This is the memoir of a man who finds his calling as a reporter and wins the Pulitzer Prize for exposing a corrupt city government in Pasadena, Texas, in the early 1960s. Through meticulous, careful reporting combined with sheer stubbornness, he gradually uncovers a system of kickbacks, secret payments and sweetheart deals that astonishes him and awakens a sleepy suburban city to the dealings of their good ol’ mayor and city council. Gene Goltz (1930-2001) went on to share a second Pulitzer in 1968 and win multiple awards throughout his nearly 40-year career.
