# THE ELEVATION CHANGE **THE REDLINE SAGA | Book I** James Vandelburg has for five miserable years been trying to show that he belongs in the world of motorsport; while other drivers come into the field with well-known surnames, wealthy families, and championship backgrounds, James has only raw ability, a troubled career, and a strong obsession with getting to Formula 1. The chance at last comes to him in Formula 3. Getting to the top isn't exactly a clean affair. When thrown into a field containing future champions, fierce rivals, wealthy prodigies, and drivers who prefer to destroy one another rather than lose a spot, James soon realizes that being fast isn't sufficient. A battle arises at every corner. A new enemy appears in every race. And any error could ruin the career which he has taken years to build. From the hectic fast-paced racing at Silverstone and Zandvoort to the tough barriers at Monaco and the famous straights at Monza, James endures crashes, rivalries, penalties, injuries, doubtful decisions, and gradually becomes involved in a more personal conflict with Sebastian, the privileged driver who is determined to stop him. When the Formula 3 championship gets to its last race, three drivers are still in the running. One championship. One final race. James is willing to do nearly anything in order to obtain the crown. Elevation Change is the story of a high-speed motorsport event focusing on ambition, rivalry, friendship, obsession, and the harsh journey from being an unknown rookie to becoming a future Formula 1 driver. Here is where the journey towards Formula 1 starts.
